THERAPEUTIC STYLE

I combine warmth, empathy, and humor with empirically grounded clinical techniques. I use a combination of cognitive, solution-focused, systems theory, and psychodynamic philosophies to guide my practice. When dealing with Forensic Psychology cases, my approach is sophisticated and straightforward as my role often requires collaboration with attorney's, judges, and the overall court system.

My clinical practice is supported by years in a variety of clinical environments and my overall core principal is that each client has within them the resources and strength to improve their lives. By focusing on the client in a system, it empowers their abilities to self-regulate. I specialize in relationship counseling, couples counseling, and unique populations such as emergency and military personnel. My strong background in teaching biopsychology and neuroscience as well as training gin clinical psychopharmacology provides insight into the biological aspects on the therapy I provide.

BACKGROUND

I received my bachelors degree from Tulane University in New Orleans in Cellular Neuroscience. I then attended the University of Denver for a specialized masters degree in Forensic Psychology. My doctorate degree is in clinical psychology (Psy.D.) and was completed at Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, CA where I specialized in trauma work with emergency personnel.

I am a dedicated volunteer, and I have worked with the local Red Cross teaching classes in disaster preparedness and psychological first aid to Red Cross staff and volunteers. I have also sat on the National Disaster Response Network committee and provided disaster response services.

I balance my clinical and professional life as a successful photographer for over a decade, giving balance and aesthetic to my consultation and clinical practice.
